Some places pay more than others. We count the number of sites that cost money for each study and match us with the appropriate ones. We fear sites that pay us through a confusing point system and send us surveys that we rarely qualify for.

Remember that your personality and other characteristics largely determine whether or not you are a good fit for a study. All three of us who took the survey in 2017 were single women in their 20s living in urban areas. Depending on the research, we may or may not be better participants. Your profile may lead to different results than ours.
Below are our findings from trying to spend one hour a day for five days at each site. On some days for some sites, there are not enough surveys to fill the time. (We don’t count that time in our total review time.)

The site is above average in selecting relevant surveys. For points offered for research, 500 or 1,000 points may seem high at first, but when you turn into actual profits, you get 50 cents or a dollar. Also, you cannot cash out until you reach 25,000 points, equal to $25.

This site is a less researched site, but it is noteworthy. The site has a clean, easy-to-use dashboard and offers high value for every survey completed. The site system is straightforward and shows you how much your points are worth in dollars right on the dashboard. But you need to get 500 points before you can cash out.
Some survey sites bombard users with information and opportunities—but not Opinion Report. A simple, intuitive website allows us to do research after research without a second thought. As a beginner, we also appreciate the site’s direct points system, which works out to 10 cents per point. Above all, we actually make money. We make an average of $1.50 an hour at Opinion Outpost and get paid out on Amazon.
This site only provides surveys by Ipsos, its own market research company. The site offers more surveys than affiliates, but you stick with iSay for each survey, making the overall experience easier. Sometimes it shows studies that have already been tried, which is confusing.

Most survey sites also require a minimum amount of points before they can be redeemed for rewards. In many places, we do not reach the minimum value after five hours of work. In addition to our time, we also provide valuable personal data to these research sites. We often reveal our birthdays, ZIP codes, incomes, medical conditions, features, living arrangements and much more. And after spending hours in question-and-answer mode, we rarely think about providing those details.

Velasquez said our information could be used for research purposes or sold to health insurers, for example. Or it could be stolen, which is a risk on any website that stores personal data. Much of the information provided is seemingly innocent – shopping habits and travel plans, for example. But information like your date of birth can be used along with other stolen data to claim your identity. So keep that in mind as you answer the questions.
Even with the drawbacks of online surveys, some people may still consider taking surveys as an attractive option. After all, there is no barrier to entry, and they can be done from anywhere with an internet connection.
